Professional legacy
Larry Troutt left a career in journalism in 1984 to become a partner in his father’s RV dealership in East Texas. He went on to own and lead Toppers RVs through periods of growth and industry hardship over a career spanning more than four decades.
His industry service included chairing the RV Dealers Association during the Great Recession of 2009. He also served as RVDA Convention/Expo Committee chairman, participated in the Go RVing Coalition and the RVDA-RVIA Technician Certification Governing Board, and held several leadership positions with the Texas RV Association.
Troutt credited mentors and industry colleagues for guiding his career and emphasized the value of volunteer service. His Hall of Fame induction recognized dealership leadership, resilience and sustained service to the RV industry.
