Professional legacy
Chad Reece built a long Winnebago Industries career from an entry-level production assignment into senior responsibility for government and industry relations. Raised near Forest City, Iowa, he first encountered Winnebago during a childhood visit to the company’s manufacturing campus. After graduating from Northwest Missouri State University with plans to teach, he accepted a temporary production job at Winnebago. The opportunity became a career.
Reece moved from production into owner relations and technical service, then spent seven years training dealers and developing educational programs for dealers and consumers. His work allowed him to apply his interest in teaching while learning the company and the RV industry from the ground up. He later managed national advertising, sales promotions, dealer-show support, publications and branded programs before becoming director of marketing and then director of corporate relations. In 2022, he was named vice president of government and industry relations.
Reece’s extensive volunteer service with the RV Industry Association began early in his career. He participated in education, excellence, public-relations, government-affairs and awards initiatives, served on the RVIA Board of Directors and contributed to Go RVing. He valued the industry’s tradition of competitors working together to advance shared priorities.
Reece also served on the Winnebago Industries Foundation board, supporting programs that connect young people with public lands and national parks. In 2024, he received Winnebago’s Inclusive Leadership Award and the Forest City Parks and Recreation Gaylord Wooge Service Award. Reece credited mentors throughout Winnebago and RVIA for broadening his perspective and creating opportunities to serve. His Hall of Fame induction recognized nearly four decades of company leadership, education, advocacy and commitment to the greater good of the RV industry.
