Since 1972, the RV/MH Heritage Foundation has preserved the people, products, companies, innovations, and records that tell the story of the recreational vehicle and manufactured housing industries. Today that mission is carried forward through the Hall of Fame, museums, Kindlund Library & Archives, educational resources, signature events, and the Northern Indiana Event Center.

A national home for two American industries

Founded in March 1972 by industry leaders who believed the history of recreational vehicles and manufactured housing deserved to be preserved, RV/MH Heritage Foundation Inc. has grown from an ambitious idea into a nonprofit heritage institution serving both industries. From its Elkhart, Indiana campus, the Foundation operates the RV/MH Hall of Fame, RV Founders Hall, Scoular Manufactured Housing Museum, Kindlund Library & Archives, Northern Indiana Event Center, and annual programs that preserve history, honor achievement, support education, and bring people together.

A living record, still growing

The Foundation’s historical record began in 1972 with a commitment to recognize industry pioneers and preserve a rapidly changing heritage. Its work expanded from Hall of Fame recognition and historical collecting to museum and archival experiences serving visitors, researchers, industry professionals, and future generations. Today, hundreds of inductee biographies stand alongside historic vehicles, manufactured homes, photographs, publications, company records, and other artifacts to document the people and ideas behind both industries.
