Jason Lippert advanced from the manufacturing floor to lead one of the RV industry’s largest global suppliers. His early experience included welding manufactured-home chassis during a college summer at the family company founded by his grandfather, Larry Lippert. His father, Doug Lippert, wanted him to understand the business from the bottom up, and that hands-on foundation later strengthened his work in sales, product development and manufacturing problem-solving.
By 1995, Lippert was general manager of the company’s Pennsylvania operations. He helped open the first Lippert chassis-production facility in Indiana in 1996 and developed close relationships with emerging RV manufacturers in northern Indiana. After Drew Industries acquired Lippert Components in 1997, he became chief operating officer in 2000 and succeeded his father as chief executive officer in 2003. He was named president and CEO of Drew Industries in 2013; the parent company became LCI Industries in 2016.
Under Lippert’s leadership, the organization expanded through organic growth, new facilities and strategic acquisitions. A company that employed approximately 700 people and generated about $100 million in annual revenue during the mid-1990s grew to more than 140 manufacturing and distribution facilities, over 13,000 employees and more than $5 billion in annual sales.
Lippert also made organizational culture a central business priority. Beginning in 2013, the company formalized core values, leadership principles, coaching programs and a dedicated culture-and-leadership team. Those investments were designed to develop managers, strengthen employee retention and sustain responsible long-term growth across an international workforce. As the third member of his family inducted into the RV/MH Hall of Fame, Lippert’s recognition reflected both multigenerational industry service and his own role in transforming Lippert from a family-run component business into an international public company.
