History of the RV/MH Hall of Fame

The RV/MH Heritage Foundation was formed in March 1972. Shortly afterward, it honored the inaugural class of inductees into the RV/MH Hall of Fame, beginning a continuing record of the people who helped shape the recreational vehicle and manufactured housing industries.

Since that first class, hundreds of industry pioneers and leaders have joined the Hall of Fame. Their biographies preserve individual contributions alongside the history of the companies, organizations, and industries they served.

The inductee directory provides a way to explore this record by name and induction year. Each profile connects a person with a chapter in the broader history of recreational travel and manufactured housing.

At its headquarters in Elkhart, Indiana, the Foundation maintains the Hall of Fame, museums, library, and event center. These resources bring together several forms of historical evidence: the people recognized in the Hall of Fame, the vehicles and homes represented in the museums, and the publications, photographs, and company records preserved in the library.

RV Founders Hall and the Scoular Manufactured Housing Museum help visitors explore the development of both industries. The Kindlund Library & Archives supports further research through periodicals, company histories, brochures, photographs, and other historical materials.
